Welcome to our website and blog for Land of Lights, a student game project at University of Wisconsin – Stout, aiming to launch in May of 2024.
In Land of Lights, you play as Casta, a child who has washed up on the coast of a mysterious bioluminescent island inhabited by a host of unfamiliar flora and fauna. Journey through the island and its many mysteries alongside your newfound companion named Guppy, a strange creature who can control light. By using these powers, Casta can command light to clear the unexplained disease plaguing the island. At the center of this lost island lays the hope to unraveling the mystery.

Luminous Games is a student team comprised of 14 passionate game developers, including 6 programmers and 8 artists. Details of each individual are in the Meet the Team page, listed in the navigation bar above.
The story of Land of Lights is an original concept by Lizzie G, our teams’ producer. The idea began as a pitch to a group of about 40 people, and after many rounds of voting and iteration, Land of Lights became one of the 6 games being created among our combined Senior Capstone teams. We are currently 4 months into production and, while we have gotten much done, still have so much more to do. Look out for more blog posts soon and follow along with our progress via our social media. Links at the side and bottom of the page. Thanks for reading!
